parents' zone

Sutherland Day Nursery is committed to caring for every child’s future. We are determined to continue helping parents in this most difficult job in the world for which many of us have not been that well prepared and often we go through parenthood by simply trial and error.

That is why we offer free training workshops with refreshments on a variety of useful topics suggested by parents experienced staff and have created this reference section (which we regularly update so worth checking it out from time to time) to equip you with additional tools in the form of easily downloadable and shareable on social media handouts.

We will continue to regularly update this section with useful articles, documents and advice so that everyone can access them and apply to their everyday lives. We hope you will treat this site as a helpful point of reference and also let us know if you have any unanswered questions or queries about one of the hardest but most enjoyable jobs in the world, being a parent. We are here to help you and assist all the way during the most formative and vital years of your child’s life!

health & wellbeing

For children to be happy, they need to be healthy and well. Wellbeing apart from good physical health also includes feeling of happiness, satisfaction and successful social functioning.

EYFS curriculum

Early years settings follow the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’ curriculum for the under 5s. It is based on seven areas of learning, incl. personal, social, emotional, physical development, language & communication, literacy, mathematics, understanding othe world, expressive art & design.

safeguarding

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and a very important one! Protecting our children from harm is  our number one priority and it is important that we all know what is expected of us, as childcare providers and you, as parents/carers.
